Young Invincibles?

Did you read the story published by the CDC on the number of our young people that are uninsured and do not believe that they need it. Sure, when you are young the chances of getting sick and or suffering from heart disease, etc. are lower, but it is still a risk and a true possibility.

Especially, as the article mentions, when a growing number of our young people are either obese or are smoking or worse, both.

This increases your risks of disease. Health insurance is there to protect you in case of.  Exactly, “in case of”, not meaning that you are destined to suffer from a disease, but it is there to protect you because there is the potential for risk.

You see it everyday and it concerns you, seeing our young people not taking more care of their health. I’m not preaching that we have to be saints, but I am stating that I wish our young people would better take care of themselves. They will enjoy life a lot more and have less worries when they get older.

When you start to get older you begin to reflect on your own mortality and also begin to realize much more that our bodies do deteriorate and age, and become susceptible to disease. We begin to get smarter, hopefully, about taking care of ourselves.

I only hope that this process of reflection and knowledge would happen quicker in young people to make them want to take care of themselves sooner.

Health insurance is important and we must be responsible to ourselves and our country by making sure that we are covered.
