Bio: Yamileth Medina

Yamileth began reading newspapers at the age of three. By the time she was ten years old, Yamileth was given her first computer–a Packard Bell desktop–and an AOL account. From there, Yamileth became who she is today. As an SEO Specialist for VitalOne Health, Yamileth combines her experience with Web 2.0 and social media technology with her love for reading and writing (as well as an interest in politics) to provide informative posts on health insurance and healthcare reform. She strives to inform the public of important developments in an understandable, nonpartisan manner. Her posts are mainly focused on political developments and their implications on your health insurance plan. Yamileth’s life philosophy is that hard work and intelligence should always be balanced with fun and humor. She also believes in conducting herself in an ethical manner that will make her parents and little brother proud.
Yamileth earned a Bachelors’ of Business Administration in Marketing from Florida International University, which has given her a deeper understanding of the business world. She graduated magna cum laude and was active in several student organizations; her membership in her university’s chapter of the American Marketing Association was especially important to her. In addition to this blog, she also writes articles about health insurance. She was born in New Jersey, but has called Miami home since she was five. When not working, she enjoys listening to music (her current favorites include Jason Mraz, Lady Gaga, Jay-Z, and Vampire Weekend), watching Family Guy, and spending time with family and friends. As an example of her melding of old and new pastimes, she is currently reading The Help by Kathryn Stockett on her Kindle. Yamileth also loves Cuban, Italian and Indian cuisine. Above all, she is dedicated to using her talents for helping others.
