What is Twitter? It is a social networking service that allows for real-time micro-blogs to be posted with a maximum character count (including spaces) of 140 characters (allowing for fast indexing). This has created not only a internet craze, but a new social mindset of simplicity and careful speech. We have to think before we type, not just roll out fancy words which turn a one sentence explanation into a novel (Filibuster anyone?).

This model should be applied to politics. Not only will it streamline the process but it will create a government that everyone can understand. There is no way that a human being can possibly keep a thousand page document that changes day to day in their head.

Complexity leads to anarchy, the more rules there are the more can be forgotten. When we create law, or propose law, that creates a mental picture that is too difficult to maintain for even the most intelligent, we open the doors to abuse and forgotten policy that could have saved or damned someones life. We don’t want to do this with Health Insurance, as it indeed does afffect a persons life directly.

Who wants to be denied health coverage due to unknown or lost policy? Who has the time or the money to hire a lawyer to sift through the political jargon in the bill?

Most do not, they will be at a disadvantage. This leads to anarchy, a system run amok with no one to check it back into place. Simplicity is the key. Make Health Insurance Reform Simple!

Take each section of the document and sum it up in 140 words or less. This should reduce the document by 1/800th the size. Then, read it back and see if it makes sense…chances are it won’t! With so many sections and so many different exceptions there are bound to be countraditions.

Take that product, the section tweets of healthcare reform, and create one master tweet that explains tot he American people exactly what healthcare reform and a public option means, and exactly what it will do. Only then will we really know what we are in for…only then can we make a decision.

When you simplify, you eliminate the need for inane explanations that lead to a deadlock, removing the threat of a filibuster and passing law that needs to be passed now for the sake of the American people.

During a town hall meeting, Obama mentioned “wether we have a public option, or we dont have a public option”, throwing the possibility that he himself is unsure if Health Insurance Reform is going to work or not. Our president seems to be backing down due to the opposition. Whose side is he on? What does he want?

Obama needs to be clear and consistent with his ideas and programs. This is one aspect of the Bush administration that seems to have faded. John Stewart mentioned this on his show on August 17th. We have to hand it to these comedians, they put perspective on the reality of the Healthcare reform situation.

Democrats are losing ground, they are slipping words and terms into their speeches and answers that are creating a wave of unceertainty which threatens to annihalate the fabric of unity in the democratic party.

The way things are going, a Republican win looks prominent in the next election…even with all the problems of the Bush era.

Think that bottled water is good for your health? Guess again! Tap water is more regulated that bottled water. 33% of bottled water manufacturers, examined during a 4 year study did not even follow those standards. Why does that water taste “better”, “cleaner”, “fresher”? Maybe we are just crazy. We want to believe beacuse it comes in a clear bottle so we can see it’s contents that its less filled with bacteria than hose water. We want to believe gimmicks like reverse osmisos water, etc just so we can have some peace of mind and feel “right” while drinking it.

Its a social thing really. We can afford to pay 1000% more for a glass of water than others because we are affluent and intelligent. Being concerned for ones sanitary nature is of course number one in a high class society. What better way than showing you care about the simplest things such as the type of water you drink!

Businesses are worried about two things often, and sadly, especially so in consumable markets such as food and drugs. These two things are, lower costs and increased sales. The less they have to regulate their product, the less cost to their company. The more they get you to believe their product is clean and safe and a necessary part of life, the more sales they get! Imagine, we are paying $1.00+ everyday for a simple plastic bottle…are we nuts?

Don’t believe me? Ask Penn and Teller. Besides, who can we trust now besides comedians that create satires out of the mundane nonsense that is our life and psyche. Look at Colbert and Stewart, two of the best newscasters I’ve ever seen. I get more informative news from them in 30 minutes than any CNN/Fox News/MSNBC representative trying to be serious and knowledgeable with their uhm’s and ah’s, trying to fill up their 8 hour time slots. Experts they are not, yet we listen intently and watch them drink bottled water on national television.

Family Health Insurance Plans for You and Your Loved Ones

Sometimes, the best way to take care of your family is to anticipate each member’s needs. With family health insurance plans, anyone can extend their concern for every family member even through distances and rifts.

Health insurance is a plan that pays for all or part of medical expenses when you need them most. The medical assistance relies on the premiums that are paid by the consumers through a period of time. These premiums determine the kind of coverage—the maximum amount of financial assistance in medical emergencies, for instance—individuals or members of a group are eligible to receive.

Private insurance companies often offer special packages to specific groups such as families. With Vital One’s plans, a family can save money by availing of family health insurance plans under the same policy. Aside from the cost-effectiveness of this method, it is often convenient for the members to have just one plan to sustain.

The concept of the filibuster amazes me. To be able to talk a point to death is just plain stupid. This is why our country can’t get things done sometimes, because there are people that are willing to describe how the fungal growth on the underside of a toenail constitutes as a preexisting condition which should allow a person whod evelops cancer to be denied because there is a connection found by Dr. Nick claiming the inhaling of toe fungus fumes causes cancer…and who doesn’t like to smell their own toe fungus?!

Pardon the disgusting example, but it really is true. How are we to even consider, with so much GOP opposition to healthcare reform, that it will ever got off the senate floor? It’s wishful thinking.

Between recesses, breaks, filibuster and tea time, how are we going to get this issue solved?

Here is a list of things that need to be done:

1. Reduce the size of the Reform Bill so its readable and less prone to abuse and error.

2. Cancel all recess, etc. until the bill is fulfilled or tossed out.

3. Filibuster protection, get the thing finished already!

4. Consider the economic impact of what this bill is going to do…imagine all those working in health insurance sales or administration!

I wish congressmen had the time to browse the internet, speak to real people, take e-mails, blog, etc. They would probably see that there are more people living with anxiety due to lack of action on this situation than they think.

Something needs to be done, whether its the Republican way, or the Democrat way, I don’t care. Inaction is the worse possible course.

Democrats have realized they are in for the fight of their life, and that fight is starting to look grim. They are realizeing that reform will not be so simple, there is too much against it. There are many for and against it, and no clear stance to take. Not only that, but there is alot riding on democratic leaders to support the president and to do whats best for the people.

Mike Madden of Salon News reports”Sen. Jeff Bingaman joined up with a bipartisan gang of five other senators on the Finance Committee for ongoing negotiations on a compromise plan. The talks are likely to strip the public option right out of the bill, replacing it with a nebulously defined system of nonprofit co-ops. Most reform advocates think that won’t do anything to keep private insurance companies in check. “If we’re going to get a bill off the floor, it needs the support of at least 60 members of the Senate,” says Jude McCartin, Bingaman’s spokeswoman.”

It’s time for democrats to take their ideological heads out of their asses and start paying attention. Its time to compromise. What seems ideal is not what is going to be, and may not be idea anyhow. All we really can talk about now is how can we get the “strongest bill” passed. The opposition is infuriated and will not back down.  This means taking various committees and theier various opinions and slapping together their aggreements and hoping they can come to a concensus. The sad reality is that this is exactly how it really is going to go down. There is no magic reform that is going to occur. It is going to be a bloody battle no matter what. Get to it!

Why Health Insurance Reform? Why now? Why ever? Who is it for?

These are questions that are hard to answer. Ask any political pundit and you will get a bunch of uhm’s and uh’s. Half of them don’t know whether they are coming or going. More than half of them have yet to read the bill or any of its revisions. What we have is hundreds of congressman making revisions to documents and slapping them on the table, creating a pile so high and so convoluted no one will ever understand it.

Filibustered without a word…this is why we have Twitter.

Our congressmen need to start working congress like the masses work with Twitter. 140 words or less. Sum up your statements in 2 or 3 twitter posts. If you spam twitter, no one will follow you. It is easy to find out who is a bot and who is not. If you have consistent, precise and concise ideas and posts, you will have a massive following. Create discussion with people that is simple. Stop BSing the American people. No one cares how big or small the Reform package is anymore. It is a dynamic document, it is changing daily and unfortunately, it is not stored in any one spot for collaborative editing.

Maybe Congress not only needs twitter ethics but Google Docs so they can all see what the hell is going on at once. I can’t imagine the mess of paperwork that has been created with thousands of Congressman’s aids preparing the newest version or newest summary of what the Health Insurance Reform document reads.

Woe to those who are unpaid interns at the mercy of Obamacare and Health Insurance Reform…I feel for their eyes for they must bleed revising that thousand page document nightly.

Yesterday on Stephen Colbert I saw Glenn Beck, Republican wingnut spamming about how we have the best Health Insurance System in the world…then it showed him saying the exact opposite a couple months back. What’s up with this? The answer: political and industrial interest. The only way to get someone to change their opinion so quickly and so adversely is through social pressure or monetary influence.

When a group of people hands you the role of becoming their representative you pretty much have to fall in line or get out. And why not? Really, what is the big deal…Healthcare Reform is one huge fight over nothing. The whole purpose of the fight is to stagnate. The rich are struggling to keep a hold of their money and the current way of life in the United States. Obama wants to fix and pay for medicare and medicaid. This is similar to the filibuster concept in politics and why it takes so long to change anything in this country. Tactics and techniques like this should not be allowed, but imagine how long it would take to push that idea through congress?

Where do the people stand? In the way, or on the sidelines cheering for their political “heros”.

In terms of media figures, Glenn Beck, Republican Hero just sets a perfect example as to how the media cannot be fully trusted. What you see and what you believe wholly depends on what channel you frequent, what blogs you read, and how much malice, greed, compassion or social interest you have. It’s a shame that in our era of open information we are seeking the best and most effective way to funnel and hone our opinions into something unshakable, whether right or wrong.

Procure Medical Insurance to Ease Worries from Unexpected Medical Bills

Medical insurance is that which pays for expenses involving health. It is either provided through a government-sponsored social insurance program, or from private insurance companies. It can also be procured either on a group basis or by individual consumers. The difference of private insurance from government-sponsored insurance is that premiums or taxes are paid to help protect government-sponsored policy holders from high or unexpected healthcare expenses.
The beauty of privately purchased insurance is that it enables an individual to live a life free from unwanted worries. It can be a real advantage for certain emergencies like sickness or accidents that may result in unexpected medical bills. Although it doesn’t cover long-term illness, the insurance is designed to cover the financial burden of short-term illnesses and injuries.
VitalOne offers a quality medical insurance that is suited for anyone. They have multiple providers and multiple options for choices of the best health policy, and they even offer free comparison, expert advice and consultation for their clients.
