There are many, many health insurance agents in our country. They are licensed in California, Florida, New York, Texas and all over. Yet, it is also true that there are not that many that actually know the industry and its products well enough to be able to assist you properly.

Now again, I am not attempting to discredit many hard-working health insurance agents, and there are many. Yet they usually represent only a couple of carriers and usually really focus on a couple of each carrier’s products and plans.

In today’s world, with the existing number of carriers, health plans, state specific programs, and health plan types, a health insurance agent would have to be a magician to effectively maneuver through so many options and choices in order to qualify properly each client in an effective and efficient manner.

This is why our unique software is so adept at making the job of a professional health insurance agent easier and more effective. The software allows the health insurance agent to focus on each client’s specifics regarding their health condition, premium amount budget, and their tolerance for risk (low-deductible, high-deductible, catastrophic coverage, etc.). The software then researches all carriers and plan type and can attempt to match the client to the best choices.

It really makes things fun and easy for both client and agent.

Co-Pay is the portion of the medical bill that you the policy holder are responsible for when medical services are rendered by a physician, these co-pays are fixed amounts.  Insurance companies offer both unlimited and limited physician office visits depending on the type of plan that you are purchasing. Typically a plan with limited or fixed co-pay office visits are lower priced when compared to plans that offer unlimited office visits.

When to purchase unlimited vs limited or no co-pay plans? A healthy individual that visits a physician less than two times a year would save money by purchasing a plan that offers no co-pays or limited co-pay office visits, a family with children would benefit by purchasing a plan with unlimited doctor office visits, children are more prone to getting sick, injured and will visit doctors more often during the year.

As the country watches to see how the healthcare legislation enacted by Massachusetts works, the uninsured population also waits to see if progress is made. The State of Massachusetts put in place laws to require or strongly incentivize the purchase of health insurance by employers and individuals.

It is an experiment pushed strongly by Governor Mitt Romney with the hopes of curtailing inefficiencies in the current healthcare system. In addition, it also hopes to create healthier state resident. The cost of these programs and laws are yet not fully known. I mean this in terms of additional costs to the state and also savings to the state.

There are many states like Florida, Illinois, Michigan, California, Texas, Arizona, North Carolina and many more that could use a better system to bring healthcare to its citizens.

Our uninsured population needs better access to health insurance and healthcare, both from a preventative basis and for catastrophic reasons.

Each state is tackling its own issues its own ways, but it appears that we need to learn from each other as to what works and what doesn’t.

Nevertheless, we should remain aware that healthcare and health insurance is not free, there is a cost that we are all responsible for. Whether we pay for it directly as consumers or pay for it indirectly through our government.

Obama’s initial choice did not work out. Senator Daschle embarrassed himself and our country with tax problems and issues. It is extremely disappointing to continue to see our leaders running into issues that make us question their trust and honesty.

How dare they, whether Republican Democrat, Liberal, Conservative, Independent, I don’t care. They, our leaders, are subject to higher level of ethics than even us citizens.

In any case, this was not supposed to be my subject, but it just makes me angry.

Aside from Senator Daschle, there are rumors of the short list that include University President Donna Shalala, Governor Kathleen Sebelius, and Governor Mitt Romney amongst a few others.

Each one brings different skill sets and experiences. We just want one leader to be truthful, honest, hardworking, and knowledgeable enough to be able to bridge a new and improved healthcare industry so as to help all of us Americans.

We want transparency and honesty. We need government to work with the private sector, because lets be frank, neither can do it alone.

We want to support our leaders and we want them to succeed in achieving all that we need done as a country.

Healthcare is as important an issue as any, other than national security.

I have mentioned just a few rumored candidates for the position. If I have failed to mention your choice, or if you would want to point out pro’s or con’s with respect to anyone candidate, please respond.

We know that our system needs to improve drastically. We need a more efficient system for basic healthcare and catastrophic coverage. More than just selling points and plan benefits like co-pays, networks, in-patient, out-patient, deductible, co-insurance, maximums. Others gather around conditions such as pregnancies, heart, cancer, diabetes, stroke victims, etc.

We need fair health insurance for all.

We need a leader that will truly lead I this area and assist our main leader President Barack Obama.

Did you read the story published by the CDC on the number of our young people that are uninsured and do not believe that they need it. Sure, when you are young the chances of getting sick and or suffering from heart disease, etc. are lower, but it is still a risk and a true possibility.

Especially, as the article mentions, when a growing number of our young people are either obese or are smoking or worse, both.

This increases your risks of disease. Health insurance is there to protect you in case of.  Exactly, “in case of”, not meaning that you are destined to suffer from a disease, but it is there to protect you because there is the potential for risk.

You see it everyday and it concerns you, seeing our young people not taking more care of their health. I’m not preaching that we have to be saints, but I am stating that I wish our young people would better take care of themselves. They will enjoy life a lot more and have less worries when they get older.

When you start to get older you begin to reflect on your own mortality and also begin to realize much more that our bodies do deteriorate and age, and become susceptible to disease. We begin to get smarter, hopefully, about taking care of ourselves.

I only hope that this process of reflection and knowledge would happen quicker in young people to make them want to take care of themselves sooner.

Health insurance is important and we must be responsible to ourselves and our country by making sure that we are covered.
