Romantic relationships are the cornerstone of most people's lives but the key to keeping these relationships stable is a healthy sex life. Unfortunately, many people who face problems in this area cannot afford the services of a professional sex therapist and few medical insurance policies offer such coverage.As a famous sex therapist, Dr. Ruth believes not including sex therapy in more health insurance policies has two negative impacts on consumers. For one, many will skip therapy even though their relationship could benefit from the help of a professional. Another problem is that when fewer people can afford to work with a sex therapist the demand for these professionals goes down, fewer people enter the field, and finding a sex therapist in your area becomes more difficult as a result. While health insurance may cover the costs of Viagra to help men perform or hormone supplements to help women deal with the effects of menopause, Dr. Ruth argues that taking pills won't help these couples deal with the physical and emotional changes that are a natural part of the aging process, too. |
