The AMA, which represents approximately 250,000 physicians in the United States, plans to spend around $15 million to spread the word about their campaign.The AMA will start airing television ads, as well as national print and online ads, in the coming months. The ads will give a quick summary of the AMA's proposal, including using government funds to provide medical insurance for those most in need, income-tax breaks for those with insurance, and vouchers to help more consumers buy health care. Although the AMA is increasing their spending, they will also be competing with another $3 billion in advertising from lobby groups, politicians' campaigns, and advocacy groups.
